□ 초록

 이 글은 <심청가>를 온전히 이해하기 위해서는 효녀 심청에 대한 관심만큼이나 심봉사에 대한 긍정적인 관심이 필요하다는 시각에서 출발한 것이다. 그를 위하여 이 글이 시도한 방법은 심봉사와 유사한 아버지가 등장하는 영화 <아이엠 샘>과의 서사비교와 그를 통한 심봉사에 대한 긍정적 맥락 탐색이었다. 이러한 논의를 통하여 <심청가>는 효자로 성장할 자녀들을 위한 작품에 머물지 않고, 그러한 자녀들을 향한 아버지를 돌아볼 수 있는 작품으로도 이해 가능해진다. 

 그에 따라 심봉사가 작은 것에서 행복을 찾고, 미래에 대한 걱정보다 미래에 펼쳐질 희망을 먼저 돌아보던 좋은 아버지였음을 알 수 있었다. 또한 <심청가>는 심봉사라는 아버지를 등장시키며 아버지에 대한 성찰을 도모하는 작품이기도 하다. 나아가 <심청가>는 과거로부터 현재와 미래까지 아버지들을 위한 작품이 될 수 있을 것이다. 또 그래야만 <심청가>가 도저히 다가설 수 없는 높은 경지에 있는 효녀의 이야기로만 부유하지 않고, 우리 삶으로 들어오면서 매 순간 나와 아버지, 나와 부모, 그리고 세상과의 화합에 도움을 줄 수 있는 작품으로 안착할 수 있을 것이다.

□ Abstract

 To fully recognize 〈Simcheongga〉, this article start from the view that we need positive attention for Simbongsa, who is Sim-cheong"s father, as much as the interest for devoted daughter Sim-cheong. For this approach, this article suggest the searching a positive context for Simbongsa by comparing the narration of the movie 〈I Am Sam〉 which appears a father figure similar to Simbongsa in 〈Simcheongga〉. Accordingly, we know that Simbongsa was a good father focused on the future hope before the anxiety about the future and found happiness in small things. 

 In this discussion, 〈Simcheongga〉, it wouldn"t to stay on the work for a child who will be the devoted child, expanded to the meaning of work that reappraise the father who has raised a devoted child. And 〈Simcheongga〉 could be the work that soothe the sorriness of fathers, living as someone"s father from the past to the future, on the other hand, always living with some thought what i"ll do nothing for my child. Also 〈Simcheongga〉 is not only the story of devoted daughter in high level that couldn"t approach to them, but it should have set for the work helping the harmony every moment between father and me, and between parents and me, and for the same world between parents and me.
