□ 초록

이 글의 목적은 남북이 갈등할지라도 어느 한쪽을 배제하지 않는 통일공동체를 논의하는 데에 있다. 우선, 이 글은 남북이 지향해야 할 공동체와 관련하여 기존에 제출되었던 두 가지 논의들을 비판적으로 검토한다.그 중 하나는 가장 보편적이면서 한국 정부의 공식적인 통일방안의 기초가 되어온 ‘민족공동체론’ 혹은 ‘한민족공동체론’이며, 또 다른 하나는 오늘날 세계화와 다문화 사회를 염두한 소위 ‘시민공동체론’이다. 기존 연구들에서 논의되는 ‘통일공동체’는 민족,국민,시민을 공동체 구성원의 전제로 삼기에 특정 정체성을 지니지 못한 타자나 소수적 입장을 억압하는 결과를 낳을 수 있다는 문제점을 지닌다. 이에 이 글은 공동체 개념에 대한 근본적인 사유의 전환이 필요하다는 문제제기와 아울러 장 뉙-낭시의 논의에 기대어 민족 혹은 시민과 같은 헌정질서나 민족적 정체성을 전제하지 않는 ‘함께-있음’의 통일공동체에 대해 논의한다.끝으로 이 글은 장 뉙-낭시의 사유를 일부 계승하는 로베르트 에스포지토의 이뮤니티 논의를 살펴보면서 ‘함께-있음’의 통일공동체를 ‘적대주의적 개방성’이 전제되는 공동체로 확장하여 해석하고 이것이 바로 남북이 지향해야 할 새로운 공동체여야 한다고 주장한다.

 

□ Abstract

The purpose of this article is to discuss a unified community that does not exclude either side even if the two Koreas are in conflict. First, this article critically reviews the two previously-submitted discussions on the community which both the North and South should pursue. One of them is the ‘national community theory’ or ‘the Korean community theory’ which has been the most universal and the basis of the official unification plan of the Korean government and another is the so-called ‘citizen community theory’ which considers globalization and a multicultural society today. The ‘unified community’ discussed in the previous studies has a problem that it can result in suppressing the others or the position of the minority who do not have a specific identity, because it takes the nation, the people and the citizen as the premise of the community members. Therefore, this article discusses the unified community of ‘Mit-sein’ that does not presuppose a constitutional order or ethnic identity such as a nation or citizen based on Nancy’ s discussion, while at the same time, raising the question of which the transition of the fundamental reason is needed in the concept of community. Finally, this article examines the Immunity of Robert Esposito, which inherits some of Nancy’s thoughts, expanding its interpretation on the unified community of ‘Mit-sein’ into a community of ‘antagonism openness’. It also claims that this must be a new community that both the South and North should pursue.
