Abstract

□ 초록

 이 글은 김일성 사후에 총 5회에 걸쳐 출판된 『금수산기념궁전 전설집』을 대상으로, 거기에 수록된 이야기들을 통해 북한의 현대 이야기문학의 창작원리를 밝혀보고자 한다. 북한에서는 김일성 가문의 세습을 정당화하기 위해 새롭게 이야기를 창조하는 가운데 우리 전통 설화의 구성 원리를 차용하거나 나름의 설화 창작 원리가 존재할 것으로 예측된다.

 김일성 가계의 세습을 정당화하는 목적으로 만들어지는 이야기들은 그 창작 원리가 국조신화가 만들어지는 원리와 흡사한 면이 있다. 더불어 기후나 천문 · 동식물 등의 특이한 현상에 견강부회하여 신성성을 부여하는 방식도 찾을 수 있다. 그리고 김일성 생전에 면담한 인물들의 일화나 행적을 신이한 경험담의 형식으로 전하기도 한다. 김정일이 『주체문학론』 에서 주창한 ‘수령형상화’가 결국 북한의 현대 신화 창작 원리라고 볼 수 있겠다.

『금수산기념궁전 전설집』에서 찾을 수 있는 북한의 현대 이야기 창작방향은 크게 세 가지이다. 먼저 전통적인 신화 구조를 전반적으로 원용하는 방식이다. <만경대가문> 이야기는 <작제건신화>의 구성 원리를 전적으로 수용한 측면이 있다. 두 번째는 전통 이야기에서 신화소로 해석할 수 있는 요소를 부분적으로 원용하는 방식이다. 김일성의 이름이나 글씨가 신이함을 드러냈다는 <기이한 이야기>는 삼국유사에 수록된 <도화녀비형랑>이나 <처용랑망해사>의 벽사진경 화소를 신화소로 해석하여 끌어온 측면이 있다. 마지막으로 현대 북한 사회의 인민들은 자발적으로 전설을 만들어서 향유한다는 입장을 내보이고 있다.

 김일성 가계의 3대 세습을 주민들이 온당하게 수용하도록 창작 구성되는 우상화 이야기들이 우리 입장에서 바라보았을 때 황당하기 그지없지만 그 창작 방식은 신화나 전설이 만들어지는 원리를 탐색하는데 어느 정도 유효하다고 볼 수 있다.

□ Abstract

 This article, by analyzing the story of Kumsusan Memorial Palace Legend Books aims to clarify creative principle of modern story literature of the North Korea.

 In the North Korea, the stories made to justify the succession of Kim Il Sung family are similar to the principle that national progenitor myth is being created. By using unusual phenomena such as climate, astronomy, animals and plants we can find ways to give the sacredness. Also, convey as a form of wondrous experience story with anecdote and achievement of the people that Kim Il Sung interviewed during his lifetime. ‘Leader idolization(수령형상화)’ that Kim Jeong Il claimed in the Juche Literary Theory(주체문예이론) is finally creative principles of modern myth.

 Modern story creative directions that can find in the Kumsusan Memorial Palace Legend Books are three in a big way. The first is how to take advantage generally of structure of traditional myths. The story of 〈Mangyongdae Family(만경대가문)〉 has side that accepted totally the organizing principle of the 〈Jak ja geon Myth(작제건신화)〉.

 The second is how to take advantage partially of the elements that can be interpreted as an element of myth in the traditional story. 〈The Mysterious Story(기이한 이야기)〉 revealed that the name and letter of Kim Il Sung are wondrous has side interpreted as elements of myth with Byeoksajingyeong(辟邪進慶, defeating the bad thing and going toward the good thing) of 〈Dohwanyeo and Bihyeongrang(도화녀비형랑)〉 and 〈Cheoyongrang and Manghaesa Temple(처용랑망해사)〉contained in The Heritage of the Three States(삼국유사).

 The third people of modern North Korea society are showing standpoint enjoying it by creating spontaneously legend that deify Kim Il Sung. When we view it from our perspective, idolizing stories that being created for people to accept reasonably the three generation succession of Kim Il Sung family are absurd however that creative way is somewhat effective to explore the principle that myths and legends are created.
