◆ 국문초록

이 글은 통일문학사를 전제로 북한의 문학을 읽는 새로운 방법을 제안하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 기존의 연구들은 주로 북한 문학을 당과 수령의 선전을 위한 목적문학이라는 점을 전제하고 이념성과 집단성의 성격을 지닌 것으로 단정한다. 그리고 그에 대한 분석 역시 북의 문예정책이나 정치선동 이념에 따라 간단히 해석한다. 하지만 그럴 경우 북한 문학이 지닌 문학적 특이성에 대한 분석은 물론이거니와 남한 문학과 만날 수 있는 계기 마저 사라지게 된다. 이에 이 글은 1990년대와 2000년대 『조선문학』에 실린 ‘조국통일주제’ 문학을 중심으로 이념적으로 읽기를 먼저 살펴보면서 그것의 문제점을 비판적으로 분석한다. 그리고 그러한 비판에 바탕해 이 글은 작품의 내적 맥락에 따라 인물들의 감정(혹은 심리적 구조)을 중심으로 매개적 인관관계를 다시 구성한다면 서사의 골격을 새롭게 세우고 다양한 의미를 중층적으로 구성할 수 있다는 점을 보이고자 하였다.

◆ Abstract

This article proposes a new way of reading North Korean literature based on the premise of a unified literary history. Existing studies assume that North Korean literature is propaganda for the party and the recipient, and characterize it as ideological and collective. The analysis of North Korean literature has thus been simplified according to North Korea’s literary policy and propaganda ideology. In doing so, however, we lose the opportunity to analyze the literary specificity of North Korean literature as well as the opportunity to encounter South Korean literature. Therefore, this article critically analyzes the ideological reading of North Korean literature, focusing on the “Fatherland Unification Theme” literature published on Choseonmunhak in the 1990s and 2000s, and examines its problems. Based on such criticism, this study proposes reading as a layered construction of meaning.
